Its all in the numbers

2001-03-09 - 19:39:09
it's suppose to be a birthday party, friends coming together to celebrate a momentous occasion, not so much the birth of said friend, but the fact that this person is a friend. But in this little circle it turned out to be nothing of the sort. Quite to the contrary is started off as badly as it possibly could have. To protect the innocent I shall use numbers in random order to equate the parties in question. I get to be number one (okay not so random of an order) and the rest I will just randomly innumerate. See it started out with number 2 who thought it being number 3's birthday that we, all the numbers involved, would take number 3 to dinner, a simple celebration. Phone calls were exchanged between number 2 and 3 and plans were somewhat cemented. Then, number 4 decided that 4 was taking number 3 to dinner for 3's birthday but 4 decided that 5 and 6 were invited but that number 2 and the miscellaneuous numbers who would be attending could not come because 4 didn't like number 7. So then number 2 talked to number 1 and they threw a few heinous ideas about because they both agree that number 4 was being a complete and total ass about this whole thing. So they decided fine, we'll just all go out together too, and maybe we would just happen to see number 4 and number 3 and 5 & 6 while we were out, sort of "oh I didn't know you were going to be here. In essence we still felt that we wanted to celebrate number 3's b'day with 3 even if number 4 didn't like it. So we contacted number 8 and 9 and told them the plan (number 1's plan by the way, 1 gets all the credit for the diabolicalness of it all) because they were originally going to go with us anyway at the very least 8 was, but it was fortunate that we got 9 too. Then 4 calls back and says that now 2 and party can go because 3 wants 2 and party to be there and that 4 believes 4 can behave forever how long that we might all be together. So 2 calls 1 back in a quandary and 1 told 2 that maybe 2 should just tell 4 that we already have plans and that 3,4,5, and 6 are welcome to join , at the very least 3. To make the best of things it was decided in the end we all wanted to celebrate with 3, that we should just all meet there. in the meantime, back at the ranch, we picked up a 10, who I don't think 1 knows or has ever met before but 1 goaded 2 into calling 10 a chicken if 10 didn't go, so i guess 10 was persuaded, not so much with the name calling, but merely the intrigue of it all, its bound to be interesting. Such dynamics in this little group.

I'll fill you in on the outcome as soon as the evening comes to a close. "It'll be great" (spoken in a broguish accent.)
